Tenchi found Chibi nearly dead on the first day of his summer break. Though Tenchi nursed it back to health, it was really Ryoko (in astral form) who saved Chibi by giving it some of her power. However, when Ryoko was completely revived, that power was withdrawn allowing Chibi to die. She did her best though by assimilating Chibi into the second generation Ryo-Ohki.
